HISTORY OF CAMBRIAN AIRWAYS the Welsh airline from 1935-1976

The Cambrian Dragon is the Twentieth Century descendent of the Red Dragon of Wales. The Welsh dragon was said to have been the heraldic badge of Cadwallader, the last king of britons nut it was certainly the family badge of the house of tudor: Heraldic authority will tell you it is nnot a dragon but to be precise, a wyvern. It became the official insignium of the Principality of Wales some 150 years ago and in 1953, Her Majesty the Queen had the patent drawn up more precisely. The insignium pictured below has been used as the company emblem of Cambrian Airways the Welsh Airline - since its formation in 1935.
